North American Aviation V-2-Launched Rocket Powered Interceptor

During a dig at the Boeing Historical Archive, an artists concept was brought to light. Printed from microfilm and then photographed (digital photo shown below) was a picture of an aerodynamically simple aircraft. Written in pen on the image was "Rocket plane Launched on V-2." That is the only hard information about this aircraft available at this time. The printed page was in a bundle of unrelated papers that had come from the North American Aviation archives, being transferred to Boeing. The image shows at least two machine gun ports in the nose of a sleek aircraft with highly swept wings; based on the aircraft layout, it probably dates from the late 1940's. Archivists believe that it is related to the later "Navajo" projects, which is reasonable.
